Basic Glacier Climb - Snowfield Peak/Neve Glacier

A three day climb of Snowfield peak and the surrounding peaks of the Neve glacier. This will be Spencer Kirk's mentored glacier climb. Tacoma basic students will receive priority at first.

This is a basic glacier climb with a tough approach. Good physical conditioning and high stoke will be necessary. Priority will be given to current Tacoma Basic Alpine students.

  2. Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
  3. Crampons
  4. An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
  5. A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
  6. A sleeping pad
  7. A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  8. Webbing and accessory cords
  9. 6 straight gate carabiners
  10. 2 locking carabiners
  11. Large pear-shaped carabiner
  12. Belay device
  13. Climbing harness
  14. Helmet

  16. Fleece or puffy jacket
