Basic Glacier Climb - Whitman Crest/Fryingpan Glacier

TBD, but very early. Most likely will require car camping at the parking lot or nearby.

This will be one day push for Sliver Star Mountain. Please expect a very long day (14+ hours) with 5000+ elevation gain.

Please don't  request leader permission before climb opening date.  When requesting leader permission, please include the recent history of trips/conditioners with more than 4000ft of gain, preferably with overnight pack.

Foothills Basic students - since the climb is happening before your final exam, you can request permission to join anytime after Snow 1 field trip. However, if you are significantly struggling with your crevasse rescue skills by the trip comes, I may ask you to drop from the roster.

Foothills Basic course volunteers - at least one spot on this climb is dedicated for someone who helped run Basic course this year. If I get multiple requests, I will make a decision based on your involvement in running the course.
