  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 13.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 6,200 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 8,756 ft
  • Pace: 1,250'/hr

This trip is primarily for the KC Sig. If you are not a member of this sig, permission is required. Any permission requests before this climb is open for registration will be ignored.

Also, this is an aggressive single-day climb that requires a higher standard of fitness than other glacier climbs. A good benchmark for this climb is other scrambles/climbs with more than 6,000' of elevation gain in a single day and a Si time under 1:45.

When requesting permission, please answer the following:

  • What is your current fitness level? Please refer to a  recent ascent time on a conditioning hike like Si or Mailbox, as well as your biggest recent day in the mountains and how you felt afterwards
  • What glacier climbs have you done? When did you last practice crevasse rescue?
  • What is your snow & rock scrambling experience? What scrambles have you done recently?

Will be arranged by email the week prior to the climb. Expect a very early start from the Boston Basin Trailhead, likely requiring camping nearby the might before the climb.
