Hannegan Pass TH 7:30am.

Kitsap climbing students have priority until June 15. If you're not a Kitsap student or branch affiliate, we'll be starting an offline list and get back with you in mid-June.

Day 1 - 7:30 start to Hannegan Pass camp. Set up camp and climb Ruth. Possible snow or 40* rocky root scramble up a steep, muddy tree gully to the shoulder of Ruth arm. Around the shoulder to the Ruth arm, with hopeful peek-a-boo views of Mt. Baker. We'll rope up just under the glacier, which is a fairly straightforward climb to the summit. Incredible views of  North Cascades all the way up the trail and of Mt. Shuksan in particular from the summit! Back to camp by sunset.

The Ruth climb is an excellent one for students just learning glacier travel.

Day 2 - Early morning optional Hannegan Peak hike/scramble. (Worth it in good weather; huge view bang for the buck!) Breakfast in camp, pack up and out by early afternoon.

If Day 2 is our better weather day, we may switch for Hannegan Day 1 and Ruth Day 2. Don't make evening plans for Sunday.
