Current trip dates are tentative, because it depends on the permits we are able to secure. Note: Permit cost is $25.00 per person per night, and everyone is expected to pitch in to share the cost. The current roster size is 6. However, if I am able to secure the group permit, I will add one more participant to the roster.
General Plan
- Day 1 - Hoh River Trailhead to Olympic Guard Station or Lewis Meadows (approx 10 miles, 500 feet gain)
- Day 2 - Camp spot to Glacier Meadows (Approx 7 miles, 3000 feet gain)
- Day 3 - Summit attempt (Approx 12 miles, 4000 feet gain and loss)
- Day 4 - Glacier Meadows to Trailhead (approx 17 miles, 3500 feet loss)
There is lots of mileage on this trip with a heavy pack; be comfortable with the pace, exposure (one pitch rock climb), and endurance needs before signing up on this trip. When asking for permission to register, include relevant recent conditioning. Include pack weight and times. Request permission even if I have given you permission for previous climbs. If your request doesn't include the relevant info, or it is obvious that you did not read this entirely, it will be ignored.
Rope leaders can request permission starting March 1st. Ideally the rope lead should have trad experience.
