The priority goes to Foothills climbing students until 05/21. Foothills students, you are welcome to request permission to join anytime after Snow 1 field trip. Everyone else, please wait until 5/21 to reach to leader - earlier requests will be ignored.
Rope leaders are welcome to reach to me anytime.
When requesting leader permission, please include the recent history of trips/conditioners with more than 3000ft of gain with an overnight pack. When describing those, include how did you feel at the end of it.
expectations
This will be moderately paced climb, but expect long day especially on the second one.
The leaders may ask you to stay in camp if your conditioning is not up to the expectations. Excellent expedition behavior is a must!
The trip will happen only in favorable weather forecast.
Park Butte trailhead on Saturday morning. Details will be shared with participants closer to the date

- Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
- Crampons
- An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
- A sleeping bag rated to +20 degrees or colder
- A sleeping pad
- A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
- Webbing and accessory cords
- 6 straight gate carabiners
- 2 locking carabiners
- Large pear-shaped carabiner
- Belay device
- Climbing harness
- Helmet
- Rescue pulley
- Fleece or puffy jacket
