Thornton Creek

Trip

Basic Canyon - Thornton Creek

Thornton is one of the classic water parks in Washington. Small jumps and slides abound, and 8 rappels. If there is time, we can do 3 additional rappels in the lower section.

  • Moderate

We will meet at the Shell station in Marblemount at 09:00 on Saturday.  It is about a 20 minute drive to the bottom of the creek where we will leave a shuttle vehicle.

Although it is a basic canyon, there are a couple 200 foot long rappels in and out of pools that need to be negotiated. For this reason, leader permission is required.
