South Fork Snoqualmie River

Trip

Basic Canyon - South Fork Snoqualmie River

A fun, splashy afternoon canyon with lots of swimming and optional jumps and slides. The canyon culminates in a 100-foot rappel down the very scenic Franklin Falls.

  • Basic Canyon
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 0.6 mi
  • Elevation Gain: -250 ft

Let's meet at the Franklin Falls Trail Parking Lot (Google Maps) between 3:30-3:45pm.

Please plan to have your gear sorted and ready to go by 3:45pm. We will suit up, set the car shuttle, and aim to start the canyon at 4:00pm. I expect the canyon to take roughly 4 hours car-to-car.

South Fork Snoqualmie has a good amount of swimming and the water is known for being quite cold, even on warm days. I highly recommend including flotation in your pack (e.g., canyon keg, dry bag, empty or half empty water bottles) and bringing extra warm layers in case you need them. Bring a headlamp!

Please let me know by Tuesday at 5:00pm if you need to borrow gear.
