MAJOR CHANGE!!! (Updated 9/17 at 9 am)    Meet at 6:45 am at TRAILHEAD which is 6.1 mi from Hwy 2 down Icicle Creek Road to a turnout on the left near a bridge.  (Icicle Cr Rd is first road to the right at a gas station when you first come into Leavenworth from the West.)  You must allow at least 2.5 hours from Seattle, plus gas and rest stops. Most people use Hwy 2 via Monroe, but some use Snoqualmie Pass and then Blewett Pass and come into Leavenworth from the East. This takes longer from Seattle, but might be better from other starting points.

UPDATES:  Registration for unfilled slots now starts at 1 PM instead of 8 AM on 9/17.  Sorry for the delay.  (9/16/15  11:05 PM)  This is a pre-filled climb for Intense Basic students.  If not filled, other basic students needing one climb may register after 1 PM  on Thursday 9/17 up until 9 PM on 9/17 without needing Leader's Permission.  Please check your email regularly because Leader will contact you by email and you must respond or lose your place on the climb.

Climb Leader with Helen and Paul will be going to Leavenworth  mid-day Friday and may be unreachable after that time.

Bring gear for standard rock climb.  No snow will be encountered.  There is absolutely no water on the route. Strongly advise 3 liters per person, with 2 OK if you know that will last you all day in warm weather.  It will be a long day, so be sure to have functional headlamp and sufficient food.  No cooking, no stove.  Bring extra water in your vehicle for when we return to trailhead.  Mountaineering boots are adequate for this climb,  but  students may climb in rock shoes if desired. Boots are needed for the  approach.
