COVID-19 Guidelines
In addition to normal risk management, we will follow these considerations while on this trip.

This trip will be canceled if the NOAA forecast shows any of these conditions as of 5/12/20 6:00pm; wet rock; temperatures below freezing or above 85; wind or gusts >20mph; lightning, hail.

We will travel from Thurston CO, through Pierce CO, and will be climbing in Lewis CO.  All of those counties are currently in Phase 2.  This trip will be canceled of any of those counties revert back to Phase 1 before this trip.

Individuals that fall under the higher risk category as defined by the CDC should refrain from this activity during Phase 2. CDC Reference

Individuals that must travel more than 125 miles should refrain from this activity during Phase 2.

Individuals that live in a county not approved for Phase 2 should refrain from this trip.

All participants are required to read, understand, and agree to follow The Mountaineers COVID-19 Code of Conduct. The Mountaineers COVID-19 Code of Conduct

In addition to the equipment listed on the equipment page, all participants will be required to have a hands free cloth face covering that is easily accessible to wear at anytime social distancing cannot take place. This will be checked at the trailhead.

All participants should wear a cloth face covering for safety checks, which should be done at a distance of no less than 3’.  We will not be able to social distance when setting up the rappel so you will be required to wear a face covering during that time as well.

In addition to the equipment listed on the equipment page, all participants will be required to have and use hand sanitizer or biodegradable soap with extra water. This will be checked at the trailhead.

Individuals should only carpool with members of the same household. Individuals are expected to have all resources (fuel/food/water) obtained prior to the trip so stops while traveling are limited. Individuals should consider taking breaks while traveling only if required and at natural locations using Leave No Trace principals.

No sharing food/snacks with members outside of the same household.

If the trailhead for Snow Lakes is more than 75% full we will pick an alternate destination of The Castle for the Basic Alpine Climb.
