To be announced in email, but expect it to be early, like 6:00 at Alpental or earlier at a carpool. 

Preference given to members of Yogesh/Craig/Luck SIGs.  Trailhead is "Snow Lake" at the main Alpental Parking Lot (near the lodge).   May be climbed in Boots or Rock Shoes, but boots needed for approach.  Summit is 5,604'.  For leaders permission, I'm interested in conditioning since this is a one-day round trip.

  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
  • Crampons (possible)
  • An ice axe (possible)
  • A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  • Webbing and accessory cords
  • 6 straight gate carabiners
  • 2 locking carabiners
  • Large pear-shaped carabiner
  • Belay device
  • Climbing harness
  • Helmet
  • Chock pick (nut tool)
  • Rescue pulley (possible)
  • Fleece or puffy jacket
  • Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
  • Belay gloves
  • Warm gloves or mittens
