This will be a ski ascent/descent of Mt Adams via the South Spur. Please note the following

  • All participants must be proficient on backcountry skis/splitboard. 
  • All participants must have taken AIARE 1
  • All participants must have skied with me before. Email me to coordinate a trip up Camp Muir


  1. Foothills Climbing Students and Graduates (students, note that this climb does not apply to graduation credits) until the climb opens on May 3rd
  2. Everyone else, first come first serve, after the climb opens on May 3rd

When requesting permission, please include the following

  • Ski Mountaineering resume
  • General fitness/conditioning level
  • An answer to the following: which is the best mountaineering food: pizza or burritos

  • An ice axe or whippet
  • A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  • Helmet
  • Fleece or puffy jacket
  • Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
  • Belay gloves
  • Warm gloves or mittens
