Alpental Parking Lot at 6:00 AM near Source Lake Trailhead. We are taking the "Alternative" approach (at the end of "APPROACH section" of Route description). Do NOT follow Driving Directions to the Pacific Crest Trail parking lot.

John Ohlson is Leader of Record. Rob Busack is Mentored Leader. All participant contact will be with him after noon October 7.
LEADER'S PERMISSION REQUIRED UNTIL NOON OCTOBER 7. Intense Basic students have priority until Tuesday October 7 at noon. Regular course students who have committed via email will be signed up at that time by John Ohlson. Regular Course Basic students or Graduates may sign up themselves beginning then. Intermediate Student/Graduate Rope Leaders will sign up with John Ohlson until noon October 7; others may sign themselves up after that time. After noon on October 7, participants will control their registration status. Registration closes 5 PM October 10. If you are on an October 11 climb which is cancelled for weather, you may sign up until noon October 11, but you must do this by email contact with BOTH the leader of record and the mentored leader.

- The Ten Essentials
- Mountain boots for approach. Basic students are encouraged to do the climb in mountain boots., but may wear rock shoes if desired. Rope Leaders can wear anything they wish.
- Crampons {NOT NEEDED]
- An ice axe (not technical ice tools) {NOT NEEDED]
- A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
- Webbing and accessory cords
- 6 straight gate carabiners
- 2 locking carabiners
- Large pear-shaped carabiner
- Belay device
- Climbing harness
- Helmet
- Chock pick (nut tool)
- Rescue pulley
- Fleece or puffy jacket
- Rain jacket and full-zip rain pants
