4:00 PM at Sauk River Campground Trailhead
This is an exploritory route finding mission, round 2. The climb is now full. In the future, this route will be established as an additional option for Glacier Peak. Not going up the Skookum or Septum or Spookane (whatever) glacier as lisited. Going in from the South on the origional route as written up in C.A.G. Involves significant off trail travel. Day 1 (evening 1 actually) hike in to Mackinaw Shelter (6 easy miles on flat trail), Day 2 is a grunt up to PCT and then cross country across White Glacier to Glacier Gap (10 miles), Day 3 up the Gerdine and Cool glacier to summit and back down to tents, Day 3 1/2 is from tents to established camp site at top of PCT or if feeling good, down to Mackinaw shelter again, Day 4 walk out. If weather prevents climbing be prepared to go East or South and rock climb.
