Eldorado Peak/Inspiration Glacier

Basic Alpine Climb - Eldorado Peak/Inspiration Glacier

EldoRADo is a big one-day Basic Glacier objective starting from the Cascade River Rd and ascends constantly up to the glacier, where we'll rope up and chase the famous knife edge summit ridge.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.
  • Basic Glacier Climb, Strenuous 3, Technical 2
  • Challenging
  • Elevation Gain: 6,768 ft

We will meet at the TH on Cascade River Rd, accessed from Marblemount on highway 20,  Saturday AM. A car camp at this location would be a wise choice as I would like to embark no later than 4 AM.

This a relatively big one-day objective, so preference will be given to those fit enough for 6-7k feet of elevation gain and loss in a day. Preference will also be given to Bellingham Basic climbing course students until Thursday 9/18, then I'll fill the roster with anyone interested.
