Basic Alpine Climb - Dragontail Peak via Snow Lakes

This will be a one day climb from Snow lakes to Dragontail, via East ridge approach.

This is climb is for the basic climbing students already on Enchantments permit  for 26-28 June 2017.

We will meet at Snow Lakes TH at 9 am, 26 June 2017.  Move to camp north of Snow Lakes.  Early 27 June 2017, move alone approach and attempt summit via east ridge.  Return to camp after summit bid.

Do not  sign up for this climb.  I will sign up all climbers.

We approach using the alt approach.  Depending on weather and snow conditions we will decide to summit or not.

  • Mountain boots that can accept crampons (not hiking boots)
  • Crampons
  • An ice axe (not technical ice tools)
  • A back pack (40 to 60 liters)
  • Webbing and accessory cords

  • Warm gloves or mittens
