Backpack - Wolf Creek
The Wolf Creek Trail takes you to an incredible place, but the journey requires incredible patience. This up-and-down trail covers 21 miles round trip with a cumulative elevation gain of almost 4,300 feet round-trip. Your reward for the effort is magnificent Gardner Meadows, a prairie-like valley set between towering peaks and jagged ridges.

- We all meet at the Marblemount Ranger Station at 0900.
- 7280 Ranger Station Rd, Marblemount, Wa 98267.
- We will carpool and leave a couple cars at both drop/pickup locations.
We will go at a nice easy pace and enjoy this early season backpack trip. No need to worry about being left behind.
Plan:
Sunday: Meet up at Marblemount Ranger station , 0900. Carpool to trail head and then head out on our awesome 10 mile hike to Gardner Meadow camp.
Monday: Hike the 10 miles back to the cars and drive back.
- Pets are allowed on a leash--please ensure the protection of wildlife and a good experience for all visitors by respecting the leash law. Bring poop bag for you and the dog.
- There is a possibility that we will have to cross/ford a creek. If it is too high or unsafe we will return the way we came and find an alternate camp.
- You Do need a park or forest service pass.
- Fires are allowed at Camp...stoves are fine.
Required Equipment
The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:
- Essential Backpacking Gear
- Tent with footprint/ground tarp
- Stove and fuel
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad
- Water filter
- Trekking Poles
- Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
- Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
- Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
- Whatever else you want to carry.
