Trip
Backpack - White Pass, Blue Lake & Pilot Ridge Loop
Some of the most spectacular high alpine country in Washington is found along this route. Glorious alpine meadows awash in wildflowers -- from heathers to huckleberries, paintbrush to phlox -- cover vast tracts of the trail. Elsewhere, the path pierces deep, rich old-growth forest, exploring ancient living cathedrals along rushing mountain rivers.

Trailhead (North Fork Sauk parking lot) at 8:00am boots on and ready to hike.
I will arrange carpools in the leaders welcome email after registration closes. I expect riders to reimburse their drivers at a rate of at least $0.18 per mile.
This is a challenging backpack. It should not be your first backpack of the season.
I am not accepting permission requests until the trip opens for registration. Give me an idea of your backpacking experience and recent trips you've completed within the last year. I will collect requests for a week after the trip opens and then select the group to go on the trip. Spots will NOT be allocated first-come-first-served.
The more specific details that you can provide in your permission request about your recent group backpacking experience at a similar difficulty level, your typical pack weight, and your comfort with route-finding and steep rugged terrain, the more likely that you will get a spot.
My pace is moderate. More logistics will be forthcoming in the leader's welcome email.
Covid-19: Participants should be vaccinated with at least one booster for this activity.
