For Mountaineers members only. Photo-oriented backpack, leisurely to moderate pace. Car camp Thursday night & return to Seattle Sunday evening. Trails are snowfree as of 7/23. If insufficient signups, this may be a private trip. Prior to trip signup, please ensure you have one of the required border crossing documents: current passport, WA enhanced drivers license, or WA enhanced ID card. High clearance vehicle recommended for local drive (approx 1 hr) over mostly forest roads with some rough sections to Trophy Meadow trailhead. Backcountry camping fee $10/person total ($5Cdn/night) payable to leader. Bring bearproof food canister, or borrow one from leader. Car camp recommended for Thursday night at North Thompson River Provincial Park near Clearwater. info: Trophy Meadows brochure: Wells Gray park info: For those with time to extend travel after Trophy backpack, consider another backpack in Wells Gray (4-5 days subalpine to alpine exploration of wildflower meadows, Fight & Philip Lakes, Caribou Meadows, Table Mtn & 52 Ridge) or venture a bit east for a few days of exceptional scenic hiking or backpacking in the Canadian Rockies - Mt Robson Provincial Park (BC) or Jasper NP (Alberta).
