We will be meeting at 8:00 AM at the Marysville I Park & Ride, Ash Ave. & 2nd St. (SOUTHEAST of I-5 & 4th) in Marysville WA.  Directions: Take I-5 to Exit 199 (SR 528), east turn onto 4th ST, take first right onto Beach Ave, first right on 3rd ST, then straight to P&R (across from Las Margaritas restaurant). Click on: Google Map to P&Rs.

Enlarge map over the City of Marysville and then type “Marysville I P&R.”

Warning: There is a different Park and Ride in Marysville (Marysville II P&R) that is north of SR 528.

It will take about two hours to drive 93 miles from Maysville to the Trail Head.  Give yourself plenty of time to get to the Park & Ride on time.  We will wait 15 minutes before carpooling to the trailhead. There is limited parking at the Trail Head.  Drivers need a Northwest Forest Pass.      WTA’s link to Thunder Creek, North Cascades

The Mountaineers encourages carpooling but does not arrange it.  Reimbursement to the driver is suggested at ten to twelve cents per mile or based upon driver’s recommendation.  Bring cash for drivers (and drivers don’t make change).

Some backpackers may stop for an optional inexpensive meal Saturday afternoon.  If that appeals to you, be sure to bring some extra money

Finally, if you find that you need to cancel, PLEASE let me know as soon as possible.  This cannot possibly be over-emphasized.  It’s OKAY to cancel – things happen at the last moment.  Please be considerate and give enough notice so others can fill your spot and we are not needlessly waiting for you.
