COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.
  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 26.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 11,000 ft

TBD based on where participates live and the availability of drivers.  We will need two vehicles, so as to have one stationed at Snow Lakes Trailhead, if it becomes necessary, due to safety or choice to exit via this trailhead.

This is a very strenuous trip physical and potential very challenging as well due to possible slippery trail conditions and/or cold winter like weather.  All participants need to be willing to embrace cold temperature and/or snow and be okay  with occupying themselves during 10-11 hours of darknesses.  In requesting leader's permission, please show that you have completed backpack trips that demonstrate your ability to ascend Aasgard Pass with a full backpack and that you are currently well conditioned.

Additional we plan on doing much off-trail exploring on the two middle days--including scrambling/walking up Little Annapurna and other rambles/easier scrambles.  Participants need to be comfortable/experienced with off-trail travel and easy to moderate scrambles (no dangerous explosure).
