Continuous views of familiar peaks.
Opportunity to meet numerous through hikers going northbound on the PCT.
Planned campsites are Glacier Lake, Deep Lake, Escondido Ridge beyond Waptus Burn Trail, and Park Lakes Basin.
Frequent water is generally available in this section of trail.
Leader will arrange backcountry permit. We will do some long days in typical through hike fashion. Pace will be 1.5-2 miles per hour when moving. Early September is a beautiful period in the Alpine Lakes region with generally warm days and cold nights, but periods of heavy rainfall do occur. Green Trails Maps 176, 208, and 207. One good guidebook is “Trekking Washington” by Woodmansee.
