Meet at 9 AM Saturday at the Enumclaw Ranger Station on SR 410, or 10 AM at the Chinook Pass trailhead.

We will caravan from the Enumclaw Ranger Station to the parking lot just north of Chinook Pass on SR 410, on the north side of the road.  The easy 2.5 mile backpack to Sheep Lake offers extended valley views the first two miles before heading through a forest up to the lake basin.  Berry plants line most of the hiking route.  After setting up camp, there will be an optional easy 2 mile RT day hike through Sourdough Gap to a viewpoint overlooking Crystal Lake.  If the weather permits, we will have a spectacular star display viewable from our campsite Saturday night before bedtime and an opportunity for an afternoon swim.  A Northwest Forest Pass must be displayed by each car at the trailhead.
