This trip is a companion to the previous overnight to Marmot Pass via Big Quilcene. For those doing both it will be an opportunity to see the country from both ends. Recent trip reports promise fantastic flowerfields and views. We will hike upvalley, take the 1.5 mile side trip up Tull Canyon to see an old mine, then continue on to set up camp (perhaps along Copper Creek) before scaling the ridge to summit Buckhorn Mountain. This trip may be cancelled in case of poor weather. Because of the pace and the steep climb, this trip is for well conditioned hikers prepared to pack light and walk briskly without a lot of rest stops.
