Itinerary:

Day 1-- Upon completion of the Sourdough Mountain backpack trip, we will drive to (or you will meet us at) the Rainy Pass TH and hike on trail and then off-trail to Wing Lake and set up camp, 4.5 miles, 2700' gain.

Day 2--Do 1.5 mile RT day hike to ridge above lake, 1100' gain. Pack-up and return to Heather Pass and complete the loop to the TH via Maple Pass, possible off-trail exploration on the ridge toward Frisco Mountain, 6.6 miles, 1800' gain. Carpool back to other car(s) at Diablo Lake TH from Sourdough Mountain trip.

This trip is Leader's Permission only trip. Preference will be give to those on the adjacent Sourdough Mountain trip, 7/22-7/25.  Participants need to have previous experience with moderate backpack trips and experience and comfort with off-trail travel.  Please list trips that demonstrate these skills. Participants need to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and be willing to provide proof.  This should be a great overnight version of the already fabulous day hike.  Rob
