Leaders: Lawrence Landauer, Monty Pratt This pleasant trip explores the large Waptus lake, the pretty indigo Deep lake, and ascends to the scenic and viewful parkland near picturesque and intriguing Cathedral Rock. Catch a close view of Mt Daniel and some possible waterfalls, and enjoy Lk Hyas' east shore. If we time it right, we may even get a little fall color. If sign-up is “closed”, PCT Series program members can sign up for the hike (or wait list), by emailing Chris Caviezel, and non PCT-Series members may sign-up if the hike “re-opens” about ten days prior to the event (Thursday). Note: We'll need a few people to shuttle cars the night before (Friday evening) and possibly camping near Pete Lake TH so we can get an early start. The first day we're expecting to go ~18 miles. That's quite strenuous with a full pack on [no first time backpackers please] -- expect to start and end the day in the dark. Weather: If it snows too much to do this trip, we'll switch to a comparable trip in PCT section A. River Fords: There are a couple bridgeless river crossings on this trip, so you should plan accordingly. This 1-night Backpack is part of the PCT SERIES . Priority for registration goes to participants signed up for the PCT Series. If you are not part of the PCT SERIES, your participation in this event will be subject to leader discretion. Please throughly review the Hike Description to see the logistics involved with this hike to determine if this hike is appropriate for you.

Please review the PCT SERIES Recommended Back Pack Gear List.

Carpooling: Since leaving cars parked at park & ride lots for more than 24 hrs is prohibited, trip leader(s) will try to organize carpooling ahead of time. When you sign up, please indicate if you can drive and how many people you can take.

This is an outstanding section of the PCT trail.
