Meet at 9 AM Saturday at the Butter Butte Coffee Co., 105 E Main St., in Packwood.

We will caravan 5.5 miles from Packwood to the trailhead.  The scenic trail to Packwood Lake takes us initially uphill through old growth forest and then down to the lake.  We will camp at one of multiple large campsites on the east side of the lake, where flowing stream water and an outhouse are nearby.  There are also outhouses at the trailhead and the north end of Packwood Lake.  At the end of our Saturday afternoon day hike to the south end of Packwood Lake, we will have a nice view of Mt. Rainier.  A Northwest Forest Pass must be displayed by each car at the trailhead parking lot.
