Meet at 9 AM Friday June 10 at the Olympic National Park Wilderness Information Center on Race Street in Port Angeles.

This is a unique and easy beach backpack trip with minimal elevation gain, backpacking through a coastal rain forest on Friday and Sunday and exploring ancient Indian petroglyphs on Saturday's beach walk.  Saturday morning we can explore a native museum at Cape Alava and day hike the beach to the Ozette River.  A small climbable hill at Sand Point provides a spectacular view up and down the Olympic coast.  Camp fees are $5 per person per night and a National Park Pass or entrance fee are required.  Bear canisters are required for food storage.  They can be rented at the Wilderness Information Center in Port Angeles.  Most of the hike to and from the beach is on a board walk.
