Beginner Backpacking trip for Tacoma students only. Overnight trip starting at the Dingford TH and hiking to Goldmeyer Hot Springs area.

Meeting place will be at 9:15 at the Safeway in North Bend.   Leader will send out detailed information to Students. 

Trip geared for Tacoma Intro to Backpacking course students.  Leisurely pace with many rest stops along the trail.   There is a few creek crossing so bring corcs with heal strap or water shoes encase we need to take our boots off.

The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:

  • Tent with footprint/ground tarp
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag 
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel 
  • Rain gear
  • Well worn hiking boots
  • Water shoes for creek crossing
  • Layered clothing for weather (daytime 60s, nightime 40s)
  • Headlamp
  • Bug Spray
