Leader's notes Green Trails #270 Mount Rainier East, #269 Mount Rainier West Glorious meadows of Grand Park and the less-traveled views of the Northern Loop route on the Wonderland including Lakes Eleanor and James, Van Horn falls, Yellowstone Cliffs and Skyscraper Pass. This trip is moderate in daily distance but has considerable elevation gain so should be undertaken only by well-conditioned backpackers with gear and experience to pack light. Weather is always unpredictable around The Mountain so you will need layers, rain protection for self and gear, and warm non-cotton clothing. We'll connect closer to the trip date to discuss potential to share tents or other gear, and to make arrangements for meeting place(s) and carpools. A gear list can be provided on request.
