BAKER LAKE BACKPACK We will hike along the Baker Lake Trail (formerly known as the East Bank Trail) among some old growth timber with peek-a-boo views of Mt. Baker. This is a moderate trip due to length, as we will hike in Saturday approximately 8 miles to the Silver Creek Campground and camp there for the evening, hiking out on Sunday. There is the option of also going one mile further to Noisy Creek Campground. Elevation gain is minimal (200 feet) and the pace will be slow. This should be a fun, easy backpack. Check out the Baker Lake Trail link for directions to the trailhead and a better trail description: http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/mbs/recreation/activities/trails/mbrd_0610.htm If you do not want your contact information released to the group, please let me know ahead of time. I will be sending a group email before the trip for participants to set up their own carpools. Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful (interagency pass) required at trailhead. Green Trails Map No. 46 (Lake Shannon). I will send the general information email to the group the Tuesday night before the trip. But, feel free to contact me in the meantime via email with any questions.
