Challenging trip with 10-12 mile days.  Some easy, but steepish, off trail travel to bag Sheep Mountain and Dollar Watch Mountain. Beautiful campsites at Corral and Sheep Lakes.  Likely some snow on the trail in places.  More information and routing forthcoming.  Participants must have prior multinight backpacking experience and demonstrate proper pre-trip conditioning.  Please email me explaining how you meet these requirements.

Required Equipment

Required Equipment

The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:

  • Tent
  • Food for 5 days
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
  • Trekking poles
  • Possibly microspikes
  • Full raingear and pack cover
  • Sun hat, sun glasses
  • Warm clothes: hat, gloves, warm jacket, extra layers of pants, shirts, socks
  • Fire starter
