7:00 AM at Bremerton National Airport
I am planning a 5-6 backpack trip to one of the most beautiful parts of the Olympic National Park which is LaCrosse Basin. We will head up the Skokomish river (at Lake Cushman) and travel over the First Divide, through Home Sweet Home and then up to the headwaters of the Duckabush to Marmot Lake or Heart Lake which is in the basin. This will take two days to get into the basin and two days to depart from the basin (by the same route) and depending on people's preferences, we can devote 1-2 days for exploring within the upper alpine country of LaCrosse Basin (Lake LaCrosse, Hart Lake, Buck Lake, and Marmot Lake. This will be a Mountaineers sponsored event but we are limiting participation to 5 additional Mountaineers members and 5 additional Meetup members We will probably depart Bremerton National Airport at 7 am on Sept 7
