Come join the UTHRs, your group for Mountaineers in their 20s and 30s, on a backpacking trip to Jordan Basin and Snowgrass Flats! This is a 14 mile trip with about 2000 feet of elevation gain total. Most of that occurs in the initial climb up to Snowgrass Flats. From there, the trails stay high and follow a couple of ridgelines. The plan is to either camp at Goat Lake (about 7 miles in) or continue on another mile and camp at Jordan Basin (8 miles in), where there are nicer, less exposed camps. Because the trailhead is about a 3 hour drive from Seattle and I'd like to get an early start on the trail the next day, we'll be meeting at 3 PM on Friday, August 9th to drive out to the trailhead. If this is an issue for folks who want to participate, please email or call me and we can work something out. There is dispersed camping at the Berry Patch trailhead at Chambers Lake. Plan is to be up and moving early and on the trail no later than 7:30-8 AM.
