9:00 AM at Carbon River Ranger's Station
Floods destroyed sections of the Carbon River Road in 2006, making this a 5 mile road hike to the former walk-in/car Ipsut Creek campground. It is an easy hike through beautiful old growth forest, and we will have the opportunity to cross the Carbon River for a very short side trip to see beautiful Chenuis Falls. We will also have the chance to day hike to the Carbon Glacier on this trip. There is no fee for the Backcountry Permit, but there is a Park entrance fee of $15 per car unless you have a Park permit.
