Although open to all club members over age 18, this trip is also part of the B3 backpacking Building Blocks series and eligible for B3 course credit. In addition, this backpack will have a practical instructional/learning focus and offer experience in proper gear use and camp set-up techniques.

This is an easy backpack trip to test out your gear! The area is known for an abundance of wild flowers so early June should be a great show, bring your camera.

11 miles RT total (possible side trip to Cascade Creek adding 4 miles RT). Miles per day is 5.5. Avg speed with a pack is 1.25 MPH. Elev gain is 1,500 ft. (excluding optional side trip).

More details about gear requirements and assistance with food planning and packing will be included in leader emails prior to the trip. The trip may be cancelled or the destination changed if weather turns poor.

Bring a map if you wish, but the leader will print out 8.5 x 11 maps using My Topo program for participants. Contact the leader by email if you have any questions.
