This trip is being planned as a car shuttle. We will need two drivers for the trip, and will share costs for gas and ferry rides. We meet all meet ahead of time to finalized the plans for this trip.

Since we are going to ONP, we will all need to carry bear cannisters.

We will hike 5 miles the first day on the Hoh River trail. The second day we will hike 12 miles to the High Divide. The third day we will hike 7 miles to Appleton Pass. The final day we will hike 9 miles to the Olympic Springs TH.

I am using Green Trails Map 133S to plan the trip.

Although open to all club members over age 18, this trip is also part of the B3 backpacking Building Blocks series and eligible for B3 course graduation credit. In addition, this backpack will have a practical instructional/learning focus and offer experience in proper gear use and camp set-up and on-the-trail techniques.

Pre-trip assistance & guidance with gear selection, food planning, and gear sharing will be included in leader email or meeting prior to the trip.
