Heather Trail is remniscent of the spectacular high, gently rolling scenic meadows of Paysayten's Horseshoe Basin, yet much closer to Puget Sound.

We'll have time to enjoy and photograph the abundant wildflowers, and big panoramas of high meadows and mountains while covering trails at a leisurely to moderate pace. Backcountry base camp.

For those interested in wildflowers--
A great packable wildflower guide "Wildflowers of Washington" (Lyons) covers nearly all the subalpine to alpine wildflowers seen along the Heather Trail. Leader is familiar with the wildflowers in the area.

Friday evening accommodations, camping or motel, recommended prior to backpack.

Nominal daily fees payable by participants at trailhead - for trailhead parking and/or backcountry camping.

Be sure you have one of these border crossing documents: current passport, WA enhanced drivers license or WA enhanced ID card.
