Crater Creek TH Thursday night (Oct 8) or Friday morning (Oct. 9). Household members and regular hiking partners may carpool.

The larches are coming, the larches are coming!!! And we want to go hang out with them!

Thurs. Oct. 8- optional meet at the TH (free camping) for overnight.

Fri., Oct. 9 - 9am whole group departs. Hike 8.5mi to Boiling Lake with stop at Upper Eagle Lake on the way.

Sat., Oct. 10 - Hike 7-ish miles to Sunrise Lake via Merchant's Basin. Explore Merchant's Basin along the way.

Sun., Oct. 11 - 12+ mi to the Crater Creek TH, or 7mi to Foggy Dew TH - one of our party will be coming in from that TH Saturday and out Sunday, and may be able to shuttle cars.

Folx signing up must request permission and must have day-hiked with me or make a very strong case for yourself... Trust me, it can be a miserable 3 days out if the group dynamics aren't working.

Needless to say, we will all follow COVID guidelines about sharing gear, masking up, etc... including in the car if we arrange a shuttle for Sunday. Last minute cancellations for illness or exposure will be OK.
