Twenty mile, one night, loop trip. Clockwise via Green River, Vanson Lake and Peak, Deadman's Lake and Goat Mountain. Impressive old-growth forest, river, lakes and waterfalls--majestic ridge-top views.

7 AM. Old Federal Way Park and Ride. Directly adjacient (west) to I-5 and South of S. 340 th St. It is about a 3 hour drive to TH via Puyallup, Hwy 7 & 12.
First day, 9 miles, 650' loss., 2000' gain. Camp at Vanson Lake. (bring mosquito spray or head net). Second day, 11 miles, up and down on the ridge 1500' or so gain about 3000' loss. Optional summit (on trail) of Vanson Peak 800' additional gain, maybe 2 miles--possibly after dinner on Saturday night

Required Equipment
The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:
- Tent
- Stove and fuel
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad
- Water filter
- Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
- Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
- Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
- Mosquito repellent and/or head net
