10:00 AM at Quinault Ranger District Work Center
I am wanting to hike to the chalet in the Valley and set up camp and see how folks feel about doing a side hike to the pass and see the World's largest Western Hemlock tree along the way. The Plan: I want to meet at the Quinault Ranger District Work Center and Information Station at 10:00 am. It has been recommended that we drive south to Olympia rather than take a ferry as we consider transportation. The meeting place is on the southeastern shore of Lake Quinault on South Shore Rd. We will hike the 13.3 miles in to the Valley, set up camp, and think about how to spend any spare time. After our night we will hike out sometime mid-morning and head for home. If you sign-up for the trip, I will coordinate tent partnerships, food plans, and gear distribution later on in the week. I know somebody who is doing this trip this weekend and expect some intel on Sunday evening or Monday. Sound like fun? I think so! I hope you email or sign up! Please do not hesitate to email any questions!
