Meet on Friday, July 19th at 6:00 a.m. at the I-5/SR-512 Park & Ride, 10617 S. Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98499 (adjacent to McDonald's).
We'll caravan to Graves Creek Trailhead and hopefully hit the trail by around 9:15. Directions to trailhead are: From Hoquiam, drive north on Highway 101 for 35 miles and one mile south of Amanda Park, turn east onto South Shore Road. Follow the South Shore road for 7.7 paved miles then another 4.9 gravel miles to a junction at the Quinault River Bridge. Continue right for 6 more gravel miles to the Graves Creek trailhead parking area at the end of the road. A pit toilet and room for about 20 vehicles is available.
Overnight camping permits are $16 per person. Leader has pre-purchased permits and will collect fee at the trailhead.
Although this is listed as an easy/moderate hike, it does include fairly long distances each of the 3 days, 2 of those with a full pack so being in good condition is a must.
