9:30 am at the Trailhead in Joesph, Oregon.  Car pooling and trip planning information will be provided via E-MAIL. 

Keep in mind, it's roughly 7.5 hour drive from Seattle to the trailhead or 2.5 hour from Walla Walla to the trailhead. 

Please examine trip itinerary.  Some destinations are optional and the trip is structured accordingly.  Therefore, I have listed the total miles for all destinations of the trip.  Pace is moderate.  2 MPH + 1 hour / 1000'. 

Day 1:  Trailhead to Ice Lake 7.71 miles, 3214 Elevation gain.                                                                                              Side trips to tarn above ice lake.  1 mile 320' elevation gain

Day 2:  Ice Lake - Horseshoe Lake 11.88 miles, 1600 Elevation gain, half this trip is down hill.

Day 3 Horseshoe Lake Area.  All side trips to Unit Lake, Razz Lake, Upper Razz Lake Mountain ridge above Horseshoe Lake 8 miles / 2000 elevation gain

Day 4 Pack up and Move to Mirror Lake. 3.55 Miles / 462 elevation gain.  Side trip to Minam Lk and Blue Lake, 8 miles, elevation gain 2428

Day 5.  Enjoy sunrise atop Eagle Cap.  2 miles, 1925 elevation gain.  Pack up and move to Frazier Lake.  5.36 miles, 1050 elevation gain.  Side Trip to Upper Frazier Lake, 1 mile, elevation gain 343. 

Day 6.  Hike out.  10.4 miles.  Elevation loss 2500

Upon successful registration, you will be provided a detailed trip itinerary of all the trip has to offer.  Group equipment sharing is encouraged to lighten the load for all participants.  Special packing instructions will be also detailed to make the trip more enjoyable in the beginning.  I recommend a light day pack for the side trips or something similar to house the 10's.

  • Tent with footprint/ground tarp
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
