6:30 am Northgate Park & Ride
The Dosewallips River road passes through an recent burn, underneath towering cliffs and beside a roaring cascade before quieting down at the campground shaded by big-leaf maples. The elevation is low, so build a fire in the evening and fall asleep to the sound of the river. Ferry ride involved, so carpooling will cost extra.
