Fri June 22 – Sunday June 24, Desolation Peak (S/E) (USGS Hozomeen, or Ross Lake-16 GT), Ross Lake NRA. Desolation Pk is 9mi RT, 4,400’ gain, severe. Two night overnight canoe campout. Optional split-group alternative hike to Lightning Creek camp via East Bank Trail, 4 mi RT, 100’ gain, easy. We canoe Ross Lk to Boundary Bay camp (2 hr canoe) and set up lakeside camp. Canoes, canoeing gear and dry bags provided free for the first 5 hikers using my 3 canoes (2 people and their gear per canoe), additional hikers and their own watercrafts are welcome to 11 persons max.
