Join me for this easy backpack trip to beautiful Cape Alava for the 2009 Coast Cleanup weekend. We will camp Friday night, participate in the Coast Cleanup on Saturday, and return home on Sunday. There will be lots of time to explore the beaches. (Think petroglyphs at the Wedding Rocks.) No guarantees, but last year we had beautiful weather, deer, and a stunning sunset for this trip. The Olympic National Park requires hard-sided animal-resistant containers (a/k/a bear canisters) for camping at this location. These are availabe at the Ozette Ranger Station for a nominal rental fee. The boardwalks can be slippery, so hiking boots are not recommended for this trip. Check back for additional information and email me if you have any questions.
