A loop backpack to Dishpan Gap via Pass Creek, returning on the N Fk Skykomish Trail. In "Backpacking WA", C. Romano describes this route as having "miles of mile-high alpine meadow roaming".

The hope for this trip is to have few bugs, some flowers and ripe berries (the trifecta of backpacking). The daily mileage with be 6-7 miles the first two days and the last day will be about 10 miles, though with 3,500' loss and getting back to the cars later in the day (4-5pm) to maximize our time on the ridge. We may opt to carry water to a dry camp the second night. The most recent trip report:

The Ten Essentials plus overnight gear which may include:

  • Tent with footprint/ground tarp
  • Stove and fuel
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Water filter
  • Bear canister or extra stuff sack and cord designated for hanging food
  • Cooking pot/pan with plate and utensils
  • Toilet paper and shovel or blue bag to deal with waste
