7:00 AM at Marblemount Ranger Station
Join me for this easy backpack trip along the west bank of Ross Lake. The trail to this large, low elevation lake melts out early and the views of snowcapped mountains gives the feeling of being up in alpine terrain. Our destination for this trip is Big Beaver Creek Camp or Pumpkin Camp, a round trip of about 14 miles. We will meet at the Marblemount Ranger Station at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday to pick up a permit, but we can arrange for carpooling from Seattle to Marblemount. This laid-back trip is ideal for beginners, gear shake-downs and for anyone looking for an easy trip to start off the season.
