Backpack - Beusch Lake
This is a two-day backpack trip, camping Saturday night at Sand Lake, 2.5 miles and 880 feet gain in, and optionally day hiking to Buesch Lake for an additional 740 feet gain over 6.4 miles round trip.

9:00 AM at Leech Lake trailhead near White Pass
This is an opportunity to explore the beautiful William O. Douglas Wilderness on the well-maintained Pacific Crest Trail. Enroute to our campsite at Sand Lake we will stop to view scenic Deer Lake. Saturday afternoon there will be an optional day hike to Buesch Lake. Swimming in Sand Lake will be fun on a hot day. A Northwest Forest Pass or Senior Pass must be displayed in each car left at the Leech Lake trailhead.
