It's time once again for my annual Bean Creek backpacking trip! This is an easy backpack trip with a big payoff - camp is in a valley full of wildflowers, and from the ridge the views of Mt. Stuart and the rest of the range are incredible. This year we're going in June so we have a reasonable chance of having water to drink and to keep our beverages cold. The plan is we'll leave town in the morning, make camp in the early afternoon, and then decide on an easy scramble up to one of the ridgelines to check out the view. We'll hang out in the camp that night, and the next day do a different side trip, and then head back to town. The hike in is about 3 miles and enjoyable by itself, and our focus for this weekend will be on having a great time. Come join us! For those new to backpacking, the club offers beginning backpacking seminars from time to time. As well, some loaner gear is available for this trip (tents, cook kits, stoves, etc); inquire with the leader for details.
